I loved taking Holly, and Dalton’s Engagement session photos in Kansas City, Missouri. Holly’s Father owns a vintage Lincoln car, so we used it as a prop, and were able to get elegant, formal and timeless shots all around downtown Kansas City. I loved working with the couple so much, and I am excited for their wedding coming up in the fall. The first location that we used, we went to a courthouse in downtown Kansas City and Holly wore an elegant summer long white dress, and Dalton wore a navy blue suit. This combination of outfits gave the couple a formal and elegant look which is exactly what they wanted, and was the perfect setting for their couples photoshoot. The tan building against the blue Lincoln gave the images a beautiful fine art and neutral tone. The couple laughed the entire time, and enjoyed each others presence.
We then decided to head to the city and to the downtown area of Kansas City. At this location we were looking for more of a city vibe. Holly changed into a shorter dress, and wore cute high heels to bring out her fun side. I loved taking photo’s in the city and getting especially a lot of black and white images. The couple walked and smiled at each other, and with the city lights as a background I was able to bring out warmer, and contrasted tones to the final images. The engaged couple was so comfortable in front of the camera while I helped guide them in posing. I loved how the engagement couple gazed into each others eyes with so much love.
For the last session we drove up into a parking garage at the Plaza. There we were able to see the entire city from above. This location was perfect for a golden hour setting. I first had the couple sitting by the vintage car and inside the car. I wanted to utilize a romantic feel with the car as much as possible. We then moved the car to where we were able to see the sun set behind the beautiful engaged couple. I loved the clean look with the sky as a backdrop. I had the couple forehead to forehead and leaning very close into each other. This is my favorite pose because it is intimate and romanic. At the end we decided to do a champaign toast to end the engagement session. This was truly my favorite part of the session and we had so much fun with it.
